Minor in Public Health

The Public Health (PH) Minor is offered through the Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education and is designed to expose you to the broad field of public health with a focus on understanding the determinants of health, improving quality of life and overall well-being through evidence-based initiatives, and expanding your credentials as you enter into health-related professions.

With a minor in Public Health, you will:

  • Learn a variety of public health concepts and skills needed to assess community needs and design, implement, and evaluate public health education programs.
  • Focus on improving the quality of life and overall well-being of individuals, worksites and communities through behavioral, environmental, and policy-based initiatives.
  • Expand your skills to enter into health-related professions with a competitive edge.

Upper Division Electives (3 Credit Hours)

Any one 3000 - 4000 level course with the following prefix: PH, HPE, IHS, IPE
