Program Deadlines and Criteria

The Nursing Administration and Transformational Leadership track within the MSN in Leadership in Nursing Program prepares nurse leaders for a myriad of healthcare settings and agenciesfor healthcare administration and leadership roles that are expanding in scope and intensifying in complexity. Classes are 100% online with flexible practicum experiences in healthcare settings completed in only four semesters if you enroll full time. A part-time schedule is also available. The majority of learning uses an asynchronous format with an occasional synchronous session.

To ensure you are considered for the next entry point, submit your application, application fee and required documentation by the priority deadline. The Nursing Administration and Transformational Leadership track prepares nursing graduates for administrative and executive positions in healthcare. The program is grounded in practice and guided by healthcare theory and research. Emphasis is on understanding and developing leadership competencies identified by the American Organization of Nursing Leadership; healthcare finance; understanding data and evidence; change management; creation of  a healthy practice environment; and organizing high quality care delivery systems. The online/web enhanced track focuses on:

  • Transformational leadership skills
  • Healthcare systems, Strategic planning & Communication
  • Leadership strategies for change management
  • Ethics and conflict management
  • Organization assessment, finance, operations, & human resource management
  • Healthcare Policy, Population Health & Global initiatives

Admission Criteria

Admission decisions for acceptance into 最色导航鈥檚 Leadership in Nursing Program Master of Science in Nursing are based on overall evaluation of the following components:

  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing from a nationally accredited institution.
  • Current unencumbered RN licensure in the state of practice (submit copy)
  • A formal statement of personal goals for the program
  • Undergraduate research course
  • Two professional letters of reference

No GRE is required. 

Transfer Credit

Up to 9 semester hours or 15 quarter hours of graduate work from other accredited institutions may be transferred. This work must correspond to the MSN curriculum at 最色导航. Decisions regarding potential transfer will be made by the Associate Program Director.

Grades and Progression

Students must earn a grade of B (80) or better in each course to progress in the program. See the Graduate Catalog link for Academic Policies for further information about Academic Warning and Academic Exclusion.

Candidacy for Graduation

To graduate a grade of B (80) or better is required in all courses. MSN candidates must petition to graduate at least one semester prior to completion of their degree requirements.
