  This talk explores how well the central argument of Matthijs’ 2011 book Ideas and Economic Crises from Attlee to Blair (1945-2005) has held up, and focuses on how economic crises — both endogenous and exogenous — have shaped the last two decades of the UK's political economy.

  Carneal Waddey graduated in Spring 2015 from Bethune-Cookman University with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management. He began his Marriott career shortly after, joining the Renaissance Arlington Capital View in June 2015 as a Rooms Operations Voyager.

  Now, a decade later, Carneal serves as the Senior Manager of Hotel Openings for Marriott International, overseeing properties across the United States and Canada. In this role, he collaborates closely with hotel owners and executive leaders from Marriott’s headquarters and global network.

  Outside of work, Carneal enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Taryn, and their one-year-old daughter, Sage. One of his favorite quotes is:

  The Tetley Distinguished Leader Lecture Series brings Atlanta’s great business minds to Coles College of Business students, faculty, staff and alumni. Through this interactive event series, you’ll be able to hear personal stories of success over setbacks, gain insight on what makes a great leader and talk one-on-one with industry role models in an accessible atmosphere.

  The series began in 1990 thanks to the vision of KSU supporter Jack Dinos along with a generous endowment from Hank McInerney, then CEO of Tetley, Inc. Since its inception the series has inspired, created business relationships and helped students network their way to top internships and jobs.

  Many faculty allow students to earn extra credit for attending a Tetley, or bring their class to the events - be sure to ask your professor.

  About Aaron Gagnon

  Aaron Gagnon is Partner and Chief Audit Officer at McKinsey & Company, where he leads global efforts in governance, risk, and internal audit strategy. A 最色导航 alumnus and certified public accountant, Aaron has held leadership roles at Apple and Abercrombie & Fitch, following a 20-year career at EY working with major international clients. He is recognized as a thought leader in the internal audit profession and remains actively engaged with KSU, where he mentors future business leaders. Aaron has four children and five grandchildren. He and his wife love to travel and have visited more than 70 countries.

  Minor League Ballparks, Major Public Costs. The Economics of Public Stadiums

  State and local governments have spent nearly $7 billion on 134 minor league stadiums for MLB affiliates. This study introduces a new database to track the scale of public subsidies. Using MLB’s recent reorganization, the analysis finds no income differences between cities that lost or kept teams—challenging the rationale for taxpayer support.
