最色导航 State's Healthcare Informatics Program Continues to Connect Students and Industry

最色导航鈥檚 innovative Master of Science in Healthcare Management program celebrates its fifth anniversary this year. With the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicting job growth in the healthcare information technology sector to outpace overall growth during the next 10 years, the program is committed to developing a diverse, knowledgeable talent pool to succeed in those jobs. Launched in Fall 2016 to enhance Georgia鈥檚 competitiveness in the healthcare IT sector, the MSHMI program welcomed its fifth cohort in Fall 2020. Made up of IT experts and novices as well as nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals, the 52 students represent the largest cohort yet.

Having earned her Ph.D. in International Conflict Management from 最色导航 and teaching in the Michael J. Coles College of Business, Merkel is ready to take her fight global once again.

Management major Robert Connor is making the most of each day as a student and a leader, and accordingly has been recognized as this year鈥檚 top student in 最色导航鈥檚 President鈥檚 Emerging Global Scholars (PEGS) program. Named for the founding dean of the Honors College, the Ralph Rascati Outstanding PEGS Student award is given annually to a second-year student who demonstrates strong scholastic performance and service to others.

Coles Double Major Earns National Recognition for Research

Jacob Rybak is having an unforgettable final year as a 最色导航 student, presenting to prestigious research conferences across the country and even being a featured speaker for one of them. Rybak has been working with professor Susan Hardy for several months on research aimed at reforming the prison system in the United States and reducing the number of former inmates who relapse into criminal activity and return to jail. Rybak has given presentations online for seven different research conferences, including at Harvard, Virginia Tech and most recently Stanford, for which he also was a plenary speaker.
